9% on the part price. Shipping is passed through to the seller.
Commission
Listing is free in the proposed launch model. Riot Racing earns 9% of the item price, rounded to the nearest cent; no marketplace commission applies to shipping or tax. A $200 part has an $18 commission. With $15 shipping, the seller receives $197 before any approved refund or adjustment and pays the carrier and packaging costs.
Processing and tax
The proposed model covers ordinary card-processing costs from Riot Racing’s commission. Any exceptional charges require clear disclosure and legal review before launch. Sales-tax registration, marketplace-facilitator collection, and reporting obligations must be determined for the operating business. Test checkout currently excludes production tax calculation and is not suitable for live sales.
When funds move
Buyer payment is collected on the platform. No seller transfer is initiated before independently verified delivery plus 48 hours and clearance of open issues. Staff review eligible orders and initiate the separate Stripe Connect transfer. Stripe then pays the seller’s connected bank account according to its requirements and schedule. Verification, settlement, reserves, disputes, or provider restrictions can delay availability. This is deferred marketplace settlement, not a licensed escrow service.
Payment options
The implemented integration uses Stripe Connect Express for bank onboarding and seller payouts. PayPal payouts are not connected. Adding a PayPal button alone would not implement delayed marketplace disbursement; provider approval and a separate integration would be required.
Refunds and adjustments
The current test workflow supports approved full refunds of the item amount and original shipping through the original payment method. It attempts recovery of a prior seller transfer separately so failed recovery does not itself stop a buyer refund request. Partial refunds and exceptional fee allocations require additional implementation. Bank processing times vary. No live funds can be collected in this preview.
